EXCURSIONS
During symposium the realization of several scientific excursions in vicinities of Baksan valley and around are offered. Quantity, subjects and excursions cost depends on quantity and structure of wishing persons.
Tendered excursions:
1. Garabashi Glacier
Lifting from Azau (2200 m) by cable-way to the upper station (3800 m, about 1 hour), descent to glacier tongue, inspection of glacial karst features, descent to Azau by foots. Duration of excursion 3-4 hours. Equipment - tourist boots. Time – during symposium.
2. Azau Glacier
The walking tour along Azau River where during about 2 km is possible to see the dated back stages of Azau Glacier tongue retreating, basalt pillars, glacial grotto and glacial karst. Duration of excursion about 3-4 hours. Equipment - the tourist boots are desirable. Time – during symposium.
3. Mountain Cheget
By bus up to tourist camp Cheget, further by cable-way to the upper station with observation desk and cafe Aj (moon). A view of Elbrus mountain from foot up to summit. Duration of excursion 2-3 hours. Equipment is not required. Time – during symposium.
4. Tongue of Shkhelda Glacier
By bus up to climber camp Shkhelda (2100 ì), further by foot. Effective glacial grotto. Duration of excursion 3-4 hours. Equepment - the tourist boots are preferable.
5. Dzhankuat and Bashkara Glaciers
By bus up to climber camp Dzhan-Tugan (2300 ì). Further by foot up to “Green Hotel” about 3 hours (2400 ì). Visit to Dzhankuat and Bashkara Glaciers. Observation of intensive "glacial karst ", moulins, glacial caves, crevasses, lakes. Duration of excursion 3-4 days. Equipment - sleeping bags, tents, are desirable tourist boots. For visit of glacier pits - speleological equipment and waterproof clothes (night is possible time for visit). After symposium.
6. Settlement Neutrino
By bus up to a settlement. Visit to neutrino lab, visit to neutrino tunnel (length about 4 km). Duration of excursion 3-4 hours. Equipment - is not required. Time - during symposium.
7. Sell of Tyrnyauz
By the bus up to a settlement Tyrnyauz, lifting by foots to sell catch area. Inspection of place of sell origin. Duration of excursion 5-7 hours. Equipment - tourist boots. Time - after symposium.
8. Bezengi Glacier
By bus up to a settlement Bezengi, by cargo motor vehicle up to climber camp Bezengi, further by foot. Stay in climber camp. Visit to Bezengi Glacier on the length 7-8 km (the biggest glacier of Caucasus). Visit of moulins is possible. Duration of excursion 3-4 days. Equipment - sleeping bags, warm clothes, tourist boots, crampons. For visit of moulins - speleological equipment and waterproof clothes (visit is possible in night). After symposium.
9. Nalchik City
Bus excursion in Nalchik City. Duration of excursion 5-6 hours. Equipment is not required. After symposium.
