Theme:

Meltwater in glaciers develop drainage systems in glaciers that are analogue to karst drainage systems, therefore glacial karst is sometimes used as a term for karst features on the surface and inside glaciers. The processes of glacial karst development are related to glacier activity, access of water, glaciers morphology, dimensions of surface drainage basins and local climate. This symposium focus their attention on the processes of glacial karst development (modern, past and future) and the linkage and impacts of climate change on the glacier drainage systems (previously on internal glacier drainage). We like contributions related to all aspects internal drainage investigation: climatological, hydrological, glaciological, geomorphological, speleological, geochemical, biological and other.

Topics:

Glacier caves (News of explorations within glaciers)
Glacial karst (debris-covered glaciers)
Glacier hydrology (Glacial drainage, glacial lakes, hydrochemistry and isotopic geochemistry of glacier water)
Englacial and subglacial drainage systems
Modelling of internal glacier drainage
Paleogeography of glacial karst
